Wow. I was so excited to read a story in a Cleveland magazine about a new retail concept call Max-Wellness opening in Cleveland and Florida.
The co-founder of Office Max, Michael Feuer, is seeding ‘wellness’ awareness in Northeastern, Ohio. Max-Wellness, is touted as the “one-stop wellness center for quality of life products, interactive wellness services and health care solutions.”
Max-Wellness stores will provide Answers for Healthy Living™. Apparently, each retail store will carry approximately 7,000 wellness products ranging from vitamins and supplements, sports nutrition, yoga accessories and durable medical equipment.
In addition, and possibly more important than the products, is their software Max-Answers™, a computerized hand held tool used by the sales or “Wellness Advocates” to help customers find the products that would best suite their needs. In conjunction with the hand held device is a information station allowing customers to research drug-nutrient interactions, health and wellness articles and products safety ratings.
With it’s flagship store in the western suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio and two stores in Florida(Naples and Sarasota), Feuer plans to open 30-50 stores across the country by 2013.
Apparently, Feuer came up with this concept over a decade ago, however, has waited until he felt the market was ‘ready.’
As a longtime wellness consumer and advocate, I am truly excited to see this retail concept and even more excited to watch it develop in Northeastern Ohio. I will have a new-favorite-hang-out (besides Whole Food and Mustard Seed). Hmm…Is Max-Wellness hiring?
